Texas Holdem RulesOne of the most favorite poker variations is Texas Holdem. We will examine the three major versions to this game, “Limit Holdem” , “Pot Limit Holdem” and “No Limit Holdem”. Limit Texas Holdem Rules:Just like the name indicates, the table has set betting limits which are stated in the table name such as $3/$6 table, $5/$10 table and so on. At Fullbet.com Poker you will find tables as low as $0.1-$0.24 Limit Holdem. The betting is divided that the lower betting limit ($5) is played during the first two betting rounds and the higher limit ($10) is played during the last two betting rounds. A typical hand of Texas Holdem starts of with one player being “the dealer” (this is to mark the positions of the players and the player might not actually deal the cards). Then the two “blind” bets are placed (“Big Blind” and “Small Blind”) by the two players to the left of the dealer. These are called “blind” bets due to the fact that the bets are placed before the cards are dealt and the players do not see their cards, only after placing the bets, hence the name “blind bet”. The “Small Blind” places a bet of half the lower limit ($1 in a $2/$4 table) and the “big blind” places a bet equal to the lower limit of the table ($2). After the blind bets are placed the cards are dealt, two faced down cards to each player. The betting starts with the player to the left of the “big blind” and the player can either fold his hand, call (match the lower limit) or raise. After the first player makes his bet, the next player is faced with the same options and so it goes on until every player around the table has either folded or matched the highest bet. Usually in “limit” games the betting rounds have a ceiling of 4 bets per round which is to ensure that the “raises” can not go on indefinitely. The betting round is not over and no new cards are dealt until all players placed equal bets or folded. After the initial round of betting is over, the dealer will hand out the “flop” which is three community cards that are dealt face up in the middle of the table. All players share the cards across the middle of the table, and may use them along with their previous two cards to make the best hand possible. The player to start of this round of betting will be the one to the left of the dealer and this round of “Limit Holdem” will use the lower limit as the bet size. The next card to be dealt is the 4th community card which is also called the “turn”. Once again, the player to the left of the dealer will start the betting round. Starting with this round, the higher limit of betting will be used (for example, in a $5/$10 table, the betting in this round will be in increments of $10). Now we come to the final community card which is called the “river”. Again, the round of betting starts with the player to the left of the dealer and the high limit bet will be used. When all remaining players contribute equally to the pot, they are ready to reveal their cards in what is called a “showdown”. The player will turn over their cards and the player who was able to put together the highest hand from his two face down cards (hole cards) and three community cards will win. No Limit Poker Rules:The only difference between “limit Holdem” and “no limit Holdem” is that in “no limit Holdem” there are no predefined limits. Players can place bets as high as their bank roll and there is no cap limit on the amount of bets and raises in a betting round. Since there are no limits on the amounts of the bets, the size of the bets do not increase from the “river” card as in “limit Holdem”. Every round can go as high as possible with the only consideration of the minimum bet must equal to the “big blind”. Pot Limit Poker Rules:Pot Limit Poker is in fact quite similar to No limit Poker. The Difference being that the maximum allowed betting amount is the sum of chips currentely in the pot. As in No Limit Poker, in Pot Limit Poker there is a restriction on the minimum bet amount, which is the big blind. Here are some important reminders at a quick glance:
